2018: Growth and Reflection / by Cristy York

🌱 If you’re having a terrible day, I hope you can search as long and as intensely as you need to to locate the immeasurable blessings within the darkest of times. I hope you can scan the night sky and find the most sensational glimmer of hope shooting by you. I hope you can hold that moment close to your heart and cherish it forever. Root that moment of inspiration in the most tender vault of your mind like a bountiful soil, and allow the fondest of memories to fervently blossom for you as a constant reminder of encouragement. 🌻

Alas, there was great reason to be afraid. 2018 took me on a great journey, truly. After enduring so much, collecting so many L’s and turning them to lessons, I was afraid of losing everything I had gained through the struggle. 🙏

I evolved from a lonely, desperate and frail child, to a bold, strong, outspoken, and worthy warrior woman. I have my friends and my mom to thank for that tremendous growth. I have bae to thank for that. I was terrified of travelling, truthfully, because I recognized how far I had come, how much I had gained, and it agonized me to think I had come all this way just to lose it all. I was rejecting that internal terror. I couldn’t permit that to become reality.

I fought for this much, and I’ll keep pushing forward. It’s practically my sworn duty.

(I hope it’s yours too).

Keep that same (BD) energy.

Or Better 💫
